Stop and Smell God's Roses

There is something very biblical, very right, very holy and very worship-inducing about the old adage "Stop and smell the roses."
But only if we don't stop with the roses.

All of God's created work...

from the rose to the rhinoceros
from the leaf to the leviathan
from the rainy season to the rising sun
from the salty tear to the sounding thunder

all of God's created work is meant to point us to Him.

The heavens declare the glory of God,
        and the sky above proclaims his handiwork.
    Day to day pours out speech,
        and night to night reveals knowledge.
    There is no speech, nor are there words,
        whose voice is not heard.
    Their voice goes out through all the earth,
        and their words to the end of the world.
    In them he has set a tent for the sun,
        which comes out like a bridegroom leaving his chamber,
        and, like a strong man, runs its course with joy.
    Its rising is from the end of the heavens,
        and its circuit to the end of them,
        and there is nothing hidden from its heat.
(Psalm 19:1-6 ESV) 

It is good to give thanks to the LORD,
        to sing praises to your name, O Most High;
    to declare your steadfast love in the morning,
        and your faithfulness by night,
    to the music of the lute and the harp,
        to the melody of the lyre.
    For you, O LORD, have made me glad by your work;
        at the works of your hands I sing for joy.
    How great are your works, O LORD!
        Your thoughts are very deep!

    For his invisible attributes, namely, his eternal power and divine nature, have been clearly perceived, ever since the creation of the world, in the things that have been made. So they are without excuse.
